Overview
Big Bear's craft beverage scene has grown into a genuine highlight of the mountain experience. Several breweries and tasting rooms dot the valley, each offering a distinct atmosphere and locally inspired selections that pair perfectly with a day in the mountains.
Big Bear Lake Brewing Company anchors the craft-beer side with a rotating lineup of beers brewed on-site, from crisp pilsners to robust stouts, in a laid-back taproom setting. Fire Rock Pub is another popular spot for local suds and a casual bite. On the wine side, Barrel 33 (40754 Village Dr) is a neighborhood wine bar and bottle shop focused on small-batch California wines from family-owned vineyards, paired with charcuterie boards, artisan flatbreads, and hearty sandwiches. They also pour a traditional German Glühwein (mulled wine) — which you won't find anywhere else in Big Bear — and host live music, paint-and-sip nights, and wine tastings throughout the year.
Most tasting rooms are clustered in or near The Village, making it easy to walk between spots and sample a range of offerings. Many host live music on weekends, trivia nights, and seasonal events. For groups staying at one of our properties, a brewery and tasting tour makes an excellent evening activity — no need to venture far from your cabin.
