Overview
Boulder Bay Park is one of Big Bear Lake's most beloved public spaces, named for the distinctive granite boulders that dot its shoreline. The park offers a small sandy swimming beach with gradual entry into the lake's clear waters — ideal for families wading in, splashing around, or cooling off on a hot day.
The park features a covered gazebo with multiple picnic tables, additional picnic spots beneath towering pine trees, clean accessible restrooms, benches, and paved paths for strolling or biking along the lakefront. Approximately 20 free parking spaces are available. The park is also a popular self-launch point for kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards — hand-carried vessels only, and a Quagga Mussel inspection + BBMWD permit is required before launching.
During summer weekends, Boulder Bay Park comes alive with families enjoying the sunshine and mountain air. It's conveniently located on the west end of the lake, easy to combine with a drive around the shoreline or a stop at The Village for shopping and dining.
